Barcelona Is Looking Good

We wandered around Barcelona yesterday, trying to enjoy the sites. Also, we were just trying to stay awake. We realized we had not eaten since dinner on the plane shortly after taking off from Toronto, so we started looking for a place to grab some lunch on our way to check out the Sagrada Familia. It was a beautiful day and we ate outside, watching the people of Barcelona walk by. What's up with all the little white dogs Barcelona?? It was only after we ate that it dawned on us that we had chosen an Italian restaurant. Our first meal in Spain and we had Italian? Yes, we were so tired we weren't thinking very well!! The Sagrada looks amazing and weird. We will definitely go back to tour it. We wandered until it was time to get into the apartment. After cleaning up, we set off on the metro (subway) for The Ramblas. We were to meet Larry and Mary at their hotel at 3:00 p.m. Considering this was our first time here and we weren't sure how long things would take, it was amazing that we walked into the hotel at exactly 3:00!! We explored The Ramblas. It kind of reminded me of Fisherman's Wharf in S.F., made for tourists. There was a festival going on, so it will be interesting to see it another day. After an early (for Barceloneans - is that a word?) dinner, we finally were able to go to bed. At that point we had been awake for about 38 hours.
